Wunjai was a meat dog in Thailand rescued by a tourist who brought her to Canada where we were fortunate enough to adopt her. She is a stark example of humanity's contradictory relationship with animals. In one part of the world she is viewed as food; in ours, as a friend. While we condemn those in the Eastern world for their treatment of animals, we must take a more critical look at our own.
Inspiring a kinder world for all through art.

Gorgeous yet heart-breaking!! Thailand is a beautiful country, yet their social traditions and views are so different from ours. I am thankful for that tourist!! F/V

Thanks Fiona! We need to keep an eye on the dog meat industry as a restaurant in the US was recently allowed to sell it! What happens to all animals treated as food is terrifying but we do have a chance to stop the dog meat trade in North America at least.

So very glad this little one life was spared! To me it is heartbreaking what happens to dogs in different parts of the world. Dogs are such wonderful, dear, loving friends! Thank you for adopting her and giving her love & care. I truly love this picture, so sorry for your loss, I know how hard it when we have to say good-bye. Congrats on your sale, Twyla.

Thanks Deborah! We miss our wee troublemaker every day. This is my favourite of my paintings so far - even though the message and her loss is painful. She was so beautiful. It was impossible to see her as food.

Awwww...thank God his life was spared! God bless you for all you do for all these animals! After all, they are God's creatures and have just as much right to live as we do. You are a talented artist and your paintings bring a very important message to the world! F/L!
