Excellent, thought-provoking painting!

Thanks so much Doris. It's definitely a challenging work but I hope folks will understand why this one needed to be graphic.

Artist's Description

Contrary to popular opinion, leather is not simply a by-product of the meat industry. In fact, 10% of a producer's income comes from selling animal skins, making it, pound for pound, the most valuable part of an animal. The majority of leather comes from "beef" cows and "dairy" cows who are no longer producing enough milk to remain profitable. After a lifetime of exhaustive production, these animals have their lives taken from them in slaughterhouses with a legally allowed stunning error rate of 5-10%, meaning some animals are skinned alive.
