Few are aware but horses are slaughtered in Canada for human consumption. Because they are expensive to raise, most are sourced from ex-pets and even ex-race horses. I've conducted investigations in 4 horse slaughterhouses and all 4 failed to render the horses unconscious, resulting in animals' reviving during the butchering process. This industry forces us to examine where we draw our line between friend and food and question how far we'll go to satisfy a palate preference.
Inspiring a kinder world for all through art.
